The Hydrangeas (Ortensia) of Bolsena

In summertime, my husband and I love to frequent a little lakeside bath house in the town of Bolsena, on the shores of beautiful Lago Bolsena. The town’s signature flower is the hydrangea (they even hold a hydrangea festival in June) and the avenues, pathways, parks and piazzas are vibrant with pinks, purples, blues and whites (from creamy to icy) of this magnificent flower.
